Transfer a specified product

State the pulp temperature, viscosity information and suspended material before selecting a transfer system. The same flow target can require different duties when product and pipework conditions change.

Define the path through the plant

Measure distance, elevation changes, connections and downstream pressure requirements. Include the vessel’s minimum and maximum operating levels and the receiving operation’s demand pattern.

Buffer only what the process needs

Vessel capacity depends on batch or continuous operation and the allowable process delay. Excess hold-up should not be treated as a substitute for matching the stages or controlling the product’s handling conditions.

Make cleaning part of the connection

Check drainability, seals, accessible joints and the intended cleaning circuit. Product lines, cleaning returns and manual-cleaning parts need their own defined arrangements.

Scope the connection

Send the pipe route, feed and receiving temperatures, target flow and any existing vessels or pumps. The enquiry can then distinguish a replacement transfer duty from a complete new handling system.
