Build a product data sheet
Include final formulation, analytical product information, viscosity or consistency with temperature and method, suspended particles and known fouling observations. State inlet temperature and the full required flow range rather than only a peak production target.
Identify product variants that must share the system. A change in ingredients, consistency or particles can change the thermal and cleaning duty. Supply representative samples or trial information when available, and mark the remaining measurements explicitly.
Compare configurations against that duty
Manufacturer material documents tubular and tube-in-tube equipment families for liquid and puree applications. The actual exchanger must be evaluated for pressure drop, particle passage, heat transfer, fouling, cleaning and the selected product process.
Request a configured process diagram with heating, holding, cooling, flow control and monitoring. A machine-family name does not establish the holding basis or performance with açaí. Ask how the proposed design supports the required operating envelope.
| Input | Why the supplier needs it |
|---|---|
| Final product | Establishes formulation and process-design basis |
| Consistency / particles | Supports exchanger, pump and pressure-drop evaluation |
| Flow / inlet condition | Defines operating range and heat-balance inputs |
| Fouling / cleaning | Constrains run behaviour and cleaning circuits |
| Downstream route | Defines hygienic or aseptic handover and stop behaviour |
Review states and exceptions
Ask what happens during start-up, low temperature or other unmet process conditions, downstream stop and service failure. Identify the destination of diverted or returned product and the procedure for restart. Keep the sequence connected to the upstream tank and filler.
The utility schedule should show production, cleaning and sterilization where required. Confirm supply conditions and quality from the configured design. Do not estimate steam, water or power from a generic capacity without the heat balance and operating states.
Agree the evidence required for purchase
Specify equipment checks, instrument records and integrated operating-sequence acceptance. Separately assign the product-specific validation responsibility and evidence. Make the final package and transfer boundary part of that review.
No generic pasteurization setting or açaí output rating is recommended here. Use the product data, actual route and configured supplier documentation to narrow the choice. If important inputs are unknown, request the trial or measurement needed to resolve them.
Questions from equipment buyers
Is a tubular pasteurizer always the right choice?
The product and process duty determine the exchanger selection. Compare the configured design and evidence rather than assuming one family suits every pulp.
Can the supplier quote before all measurements are ready?
A provisional configuration can identify assumptions and missing inputs. The final selection should close the information needed for its performance and process basis.
Should minimum flow be specified?
Yes. The whole operating range and its control / holding basis matter, including normal demand changes and stops.
