Start with a declared measurement basis
Record whole-fruit input, added process water, accepted pulp, seeds and other rejects over a common interval. Keep washing water outside the extraction balance unless it actually enters the product. An output-to-fruit ratio without the water figure is not a comparable extraction result.
Total solids and soluble solids answer different questions
Specify the analytical method and whether results describe the incoming pulp, a diluted sample or the final formulation. A refractometer reading is not automatically the total dry matter of a pulp containing suspended material. Use the method required by the product specification.
Ask for a measured trial, not a universal yield
A useful trial records the lot, inlet condition, preparation, water addition, operating settings and the measured streams. Record seed damage and product texture alongside mass results. Without those observations, a single yield figure cannot decide between proposals.
Carry the specification into the enquiry
Send the target pulp finish, the chosen measurement basis and any known added-water limit. If a value is unknown, include the available sample information. The specification builder keeps these conditions with the selected processing route.
